Meeting will include:
Morning Refreshments: Coffee, tea, sweet rolls and donuts with maple frosting
Speakers:
Gary Bilek (Triple Creek Maple) Invert Sugar All maple syrup contains a small amount of invert sugar. Gary will explain what invert sugar is and how it affects our syrup. He will demonstrate how to test the amount of invert sugar in our maple syrup. Information will be given on how to create the correct amount of invert sugar for making value added products.
Amy Shields (Allegheny Hardwood Utilization Group) PA Maple Syrup Producers Association and the PA Lumber Association have recently received a grant for the advertising of pure maple syrup in Pennsylvania. Amy will speak on the grant promoting and advertising pure maple syrup in Pennsylvania
Laura Dengler (How Sweet It Is) Home Canning Laura will demonstrate how to use pure maple syrup and maple sugar as a healthier choice in home canned goods from jam to juices. Recipes and some samples will be provided.

Lead Testing; Lead testing kits will be available for you to test your syrup. After taking a kit, you will be asked to return about 2 oz. of syrup before April 15 to be sent for testing. The cost of lead testing is $30, but the fee is being paid courtesy of the NW Maple Syrup Producers Association and PA Maple Syrup Producers Council
Dealers: Dealers will be available with supplies for you to purchase for your up-coming season.
Sell or Swap Table: Bring your maple item you no longer want or need to sell or trade at the swap table.

NW PA Maple Hall of Fame: See who has been nominated for the Hall of Fame and is promoting the maple industry in Northwest PA.
Lunch will include maple bbq chicken, scalloped potatoes, sweet corn, salad, rolls, and maple cupcakes for dessert.
Door Prizes
Pre-register/post marked before Jan. 8, 2025: Cost of meeting and luncheon is $25 per member of NW PA Maple Assoc. or farm member who assists you making maple syrup. Non-members are more than welcome to attend. Non-members and registration after January 8th is $30 per person
Note: To be courteous to the staff of the Pampered Palate no menu changes or special requests can be requested after January 8th.
Dues: Annual dues are $30 per farm.
